BrumBIRD has selected 5 groups of houses to survey in Acocks Green, Tyseley, Balsall Heath and Sparkhill. Your house is one of the lucky ones. Weather permitting, we plan to fly the drone next week (Tuesday to Thursday, February 18-20) on cold evenings to take infra-red photographs to see where heat is escaping; later we may ask you for more information.
You will be able to see:
- Sources of heat loss from your home.
- Then we can advise and help you (for free): how to make your home more comfortable, healthier AND cheaper to run:
- Suggest ‘Do -It-Yourself’ solutions (like changing heating schedules or draught insulation).
- Suggest technical energy efficiency measures to take, what order to do them, likely impact.
- Help find Funding available for these retrofit home efficiency improvements (e.g. insulation).
Advise you how to get these retrofit changes made.
There are 5 terraces being flown in Acocks Greener, Balsall Heath and Sparkhill:
- in Malvern Road and Colwall Walk (23 houses)
- in Yardley Road (10 shops with flats above)
- in Yarnfield Road (16 houses)
- Edward Road and Court Road (about 10 house and shops/offices)
- Newton Road (about 12 houses)
